Food Design
As the aromas meander along the corridor during your approach to the cookery room you may feel the need to call in and see what’s cooking. Our newly fitted classroom with up to date equipment is being used to teach pupils basic cookery skills and to equip them with confidence and passion for a subject which has struggled through the years, cookery.
Our recipes range from a simple soup which will demonstrate cutting skills to main meals that are quick and easy to prepare all using fresh products.
In addition to this, we also grow our own salad and vegetable crops to be used in the lessons. This gives an insight into where food comes from, when the right time to pick it is and how to develop a recipe so it can be incorporated.
Cookery club occurs once a week and is always oversubscribed.
