Facilities

The school boasts some excellent facilities including a fully equipped indoor sports hall, a newly refurbished indoor swimming pool, outdoor courts, playing field and an athletics field.

Extra Curricular Activities

The department runs a full programme of extra curricular activities and inter school competitions. The extra curricular activities provide opportunities for all standards whilst at the same time meeting the needs of the gifted athlete. Activities on offer include: Netball, Rounders, Athletics, Football, Swimming, Gymnastics and Badminton.

Curriculum

Students participate in a range of physical activities and both the competitive element and the need for individual achievement are catered for in the PE programme. GCSE Physical Education and AS/A2 level Sport and Physical Education is offered with students following the AQA syllabus.

Community Sports Leadership AwardThe Community Sports Leadership award is offered as an enrichment course in the LVI. The course gives the students the skills needed to lead groups in safe sporting and recreational activity.
